A short trip to Northern Italy meant packing in as much as possible without rushing through it all. I based myself in Verona, a city full of history, great food, and easy access to nearby spots. Over four days, I explored Verona’s old streets, took a day trip to Lake Garda for some lakeside views, and made a quick visit to Milan to check out its famous landmarks. Here’s how it all went down.
I arrived in Verona and spent the day checking out the main sights—the Roman Arena, Castelvecchio, and Ponte Pietra. I also stopped by Juliet’s Balcony because, well, why not? In the evening, I found a good spot for pizza and a spritz.
I had a full day to explore at a slower pace. I climbed Torre dei Lamberti for city views, wandered through side streets, and took my time enjoying the food and atmosphere. Verona’s a great city to just walk around without a plan.
I took the train to Desenzano del Garda, walked along the lake, grabbed a coffee, and soaked up the views before heading to Milan. In Milan, I saw the Duomo, walked through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and had a quick look at Sforza Castle. After a few hours in the city, I took the train back to Verona.
On the last morning, I had one more coffee, took a final walk around Verona, and then headed to the airport. A short but packed trip with a good mix of history, city life, and lakeside views.
